Jalsa at Bardhaman

Tabla.inc has initiated a series of concerts named JALSA which is being curated by the music maestro Pt. Tanmoy Bose, himself. Jalsa is held at different distinguished places of West Bengal, among which, “Jalsa at Bardhaman", the latest one, in association with Shemford school, was held at LokSanskriti Mancha,Bardhaman.

 

The programme commenced with lighting of lamp followed by welcome speech by Pt. Bose. The event was graced by the promoters of Bhadreswar Group, Shri SK Nandy and his sons, Shri Partha Nandy and Shri Palash Nandy. It must be mentioned here that the Nandys were entirely instrumental in orchestrating the whole event, and made the event possible. The performances of the evening started with a choreography on Ganesh Vandana and a harmonica solo by the students of Shemford School. Next was a tabla lahara by four bright students (Archishman, Iraban, Anchit and Swarnabha) of Sri Tanmoy Bose ji. After that, it was a Flute solo performance by IPS Indrajit Basu with Rohen Bose on Tabla, followed by classical Vocal and Santoor duo by Arshad Ali Khan andSandip Chatterjee. Aarchik Banerjee accompanied them beautifully on Tabla.

 

Response of the housefull of enthusiastic audience poured in. Smt. Bonnya Bose, cofounder and director of Tabla.Inc mentioned that their organisation is looking forward to organising such concerts all overWestBengal and pan India at a future point of time.

Jalsa AT Khardah

Tabla.inc in association with Sriniketan has organised "Jalsa" at Khardah Rabindra Bhavan on 3rd September, 2023. The concert was inaugurated by the respected guest of honour and the founder of Tabla.inc , Pandit Tanmoy Bose and the SP of Barasat Police circle Mr Bhaskar Mukherjee. In the inaugural speech, Pt. Bose mentioned the objectives and importances of ideation and organising the Jalsa series on Indian classical music in this time. Jalsa at Khardah started with Tabla lahara by four the students (Archishman, Arka, Anchit and Iraban) of Pt Bose. The compositions played by them were based on teentaal and the lahara was beautifully accompanied by Jotirmoy Banerjee on harmonium. Next was a sarod-tabla jugalbandi by Indrayuddh Majumdar and Sandip Ghosh respectively. Final performance of the evening was classical songs by the eminent singer of banaras gharana and one of the most renowned playback singers of this type Piu Mukherjee. She was accompanied on tabla by Emon Sarkar, Jotirmoy Banerjee on harmonium and by her students on tanpura. Director of Tabla.inc, Mrs Bonya Bose aptly mentioned that the full house audience yet proved again that there is always a supportive audience for good music . She has also mentioned that the jalsa series will be in vogue and they will be presenting and giving platform to many more talented as well as upcoming good musicians. Long live classical music.

Jalsa AT Malda

Tabla.Inc in association with Rotary Club of Silk City Malda has organized "Jalsa", a classical concert at the Durga Kinkar auditorium of the Malda college. Tabla and world percussion maestro Pt. Tanmoy Bose was the chief guest of the event and the programme started with lighting the lamp by him and other dignitaries of Rotary club, Malda, followed by his introductory speech.

 

The concert started with Tabla Lahara by the students of Pt. Bose, namely, Anchit Majhi, Iraban Jha, Archishman Sinha Roy and Arka Ghosh. Jyotirmoy Banerjee accompanied with nagma in raga Charukeshi on Harmonium.

 

Next was a Sitar-Sarod duet by Ayan Sengupta and Indrayuddh Majumdar, respectively, alongwith Bibhash Sanghai on Tabla. They played raag Miya Malhar and raag Desh on Jhaaptaal and drut Teentaal.

 

The last performance was classical vocal by Subhamita Banerjee, who performed a Kheyal and a Kajri. Also a Bhajan, on public request. Soumyadeep Bose and Jyotirmoy Banerjee accompanied her on Tabla and Harmonium respectively.

 

The full house audience of Malda, that too of mixed age group proved once again, there is a huge audience for good music to appreciate and acknowledge. Long live classical music.

Jalsa AT burdwan

Tabla.inc presented "Jalsha" at the heritage Town Hall, Barddhaman on 27th Dec, 2022. In the first half, six students of Pt. Tanmoy Bose presented beautiful compositions on Teentaal, alongwith Sajal Das on harmonium. In the 2nd half, it was a session of Hindustani classical songs, where, the very talented and much acclaimed classical vocalist of this time, Smt. Manali Bose performed with Pt. Emon Sarkar on tabla and young Saptak on harmonium. Manali's song undoubtedly enthralled the audience and on their request she sang one more song after ended.
Such an initiative by BRP in association with Tabla.inc to promote and spread Indian Classical music is truly commendable.

Anadalok

It was a pleasure to present my boys and Smt. Chandra Chakraborty, in our second session of "Jalsha" at Anandalok (Garcha rd). "Taal Tarang" was performed by Anchit, Archisman, Iraban, Rishik, Chiranjay, Shrijato and Arko in the first half. In the second half it was "The Tale of Thumris", which was based on the life and music of the legendary singer Vidushi Indubala Devi, presented by Smt. Chandra Chakraborty (vocal and enactment), Suvadeep Chakraborty (dialogues), Soumyadeep Das (tabla) and Dwaipayan Roy (Harmonium). Smt Chandra Chakraborty, based in London, is doing research on the legendary artists like Indubala Devi and other singers of her genre and Chandra's performances are based on her research works.

Jalsa

Indo Pacific Conclave at Raj Kutir by American Consulate,Kolkata.

A two day Indo Pacific conclave, started from 21st Dec, 2022, was organized by Asian Confluence in association with American Consulate General, Kolkata at Raj Kutir, Swabhumi. The programme started with the inaugural speech of Mr. Sabyasachi Dutta (executive director, Asian Confluence), followed by the speech by Her Excellency, Melinda Pavek, Consul General, US Consulate, Kolkata. The tabla maestro Pt. Tanmoy Bose, conducted Drum Dreams, alongwith his very talented eight students with Tabla, big drums, cymbal and hi-hat. The composition was on a rhythm cycle of 8 beats and it started with a stotram of Ganesha, the lord of rhythm. A huge round of applause filled the Raajkutir, no sooner the performance ended with a tehai. Many dignitaries met panditji personally to praise the entire concept. "Music transcends borders and drumming is the ancient most language of communication" said Pt Bose. Their Excellencies, Ms. Melinda Pavek, Mr. Daniel Sim, Mr. Nakagawa Koichi, the Directors of US, Australia and Japan Consulate, respectively, Meenakshi Mishra (Director and Zonal Head, East, Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India) and many others dignitaries. Tabla.Inc is really proud of our boys and girls, Archisman, Iraban, Anchit, Karnajit, Pubarun, Soumyadeep, Angira and Subha for performing so well while enjoying the music they played.

Tabla.Inc presents Jalsha

Tabla.Inc presented 'Jalsha', a musical evening, under the direction and supervision of Pt. Tanmoy Bose at Dehsaj on 4th Nov, Saturday. The jalsha started with a Tabla Taranga by eight bright students of Pt. Bose (Chiranjoy Ghosal, Srijato Bannerjee, Arka Ghosh, Anchit Majhi, Archisman Sinha Roy, Iraban Jha and Rounak Dasgupta) accompanied by Sajal Das in harmonium. They presented some wonderful compositions, like kaida, rela, chakradar and some more on teentaal (16 beats). The performance amazed the audience as the entire presentation was very neat and very well rehearsed. In the later part, it was a mesmerizing performance by the renowned singer, Piu Mukherjee. Piu Mukherjee presented Raag jog bilambit ektaal, Kal na pare, Drut teentaal Lagan lagi, Bandishi thumri in raag Mishra Behag- humse Najariya kanhe pheri, Kafi tappa woh miyan jane wale, Jochhona koreche ari Bangla ragashrayee and Dadra in raag mishra Bhairavi chalare pardesia. Soumyadeep Das, disciple of Pt. Bose and Pradip Palit accompanied Piu in tabla and harmonium respectively. Bonnya Bose, the founder of Tabla.Inc said that Tabla.inc will be coming up with such presentations in the near future. Audience enjoyed the entire show and the ambience of Deshaj and many of them requested for organizing events like this in future as such events take us to the roots of our culture, heritage and musical thoughts.

THE CREATIVE ARTS ACADEMy

AGAMAN

Tabla.Inc proudly associates with The Creative Arts Academy, Kolkata founded by our very dear friend and a very talented thespian Ramanjit Kaur.

Tanmoy shall be heading the department of music of the academy and shall be teaching various nuances of different types of percussions.

His students Soumyadeep Das, Archisman Sinha, Anchit Majhi and Iraban Jha) presented with some amazing compositions of Farukhabad Gharana.

The evening also featured some mesmerizing compositions by the very respected music researcher and author, Bhai Baldeep Singh. Piu Mukherjee, the renowned vocalist of Benaras gharana, enthralled the audiences with the Swaraswati Vandana in raag Yaman Kalyan. She will also be guiding the students of TCAA. Presence of Ushoshi Sengupta, Miss Universe India, 2010 inspired the aspiring youngsters profoundly.

This exclusive joint venture will also be guided by S V Raman, Anjum Katyal, Sunil Bhandari, Shubha Bangur, Debashree Bhattacharya and Prof Ananda Lal.

Jalsha / MEHFIL

In the post-colonial era, Mehfils took place in 'Jalsaghar' or music rooms of wealthy connoisseurs. These forums made it possible for the audience to experience the music of the great masters and their worthy disciples.

Kolkata being the cultural capital of India flourished in all forms of art.

Inspired by this glorious musical past and to continue this heritage, Tabla.inc was created to support all genres of Performing Arts. Under this umbrella, the masters and the disciples will showcase their art. Renowned musicians all around the world would perform in a series of 5-6 concerts over a year.

A platform of Liberal arts and frequent sessions will benefit the audience as well as the artist. Mehfil sessions will encourage artists and listeners to experience and interact with living art.
